If you see spam, please help report it

IASE is getting big now and there are new discussions, new members, and new replies happening all the time. This is great. It is also too much for just a few admins to keep up with. That's where we need your help to spot unwanted material and blatant and off-topic promotion of products.

It's ok to put a link to your website on your profile or even a few links in your discussions or blog. What's not ok, is registering multiple accounts just so big discussions can be built up and made to look important just so a product that has nothing to do with entrepreneurs can be pushed in front of all of us. Another thing that we will not allow is creating fake accounts just to be able to put links to other websites in the member's page.

We had members promoting everything from fishing rods, sex enhancement, to term papers and most of them are now gone. But the people who post this are smart and always finding new ways to get their links. It's obvious when 10 different members are all trying to sell personal productivity information that there is really only one person behind it. This was making it hard for you to tell who were the real members and which ones were fake.

If you spot something suspicious, please report it as spam and we will investigate. All of us on IASE can look forward to a better community.

I do not want to SPAM but I am trying to tell everyone around the world that I am going into business to build HotelsInSpace.
I have zero budget until people begin to buy in so I take advantage of every chat organization available.
I only list my thoughts and only tell individuals once when I first introduce myself to them.
If they reply with questions or comments, I give them information.

I am looking for an organization like this one where I might find interest.
I would like to know what it will cost to post a banner on your site for one month.

I joined IASE to promote the HotelsInSpace we are actively marketing.
I do not return often, having found little interest in space business here.
Most of the entrepreneurs I have found, are into space activities.
I have not been able to get a discussion about the HotelsInSpace we will be building.
You are doing a great job with this site but I am having trouble spreading the word about our moving to outer space.

I expect nearly all the spam is automated. Spam robots are very cleverly designed to appear human.

How do we report spam here? I can not see any button to push.

Done. As for a button to make this easier, that is not a simple matter. This website is hosted and run on the Ning platform so most of the functionality is common and not under our control. For now, this is the best we can do.

I suggest going to Ning with your request for a "report abuse" button.  Should take them about 5 minutes to implement it.  If Ning is more interested in being a platform for promoting spam then IASE should find another host (there are plenty to choose from).

 

I am not abandoning IASE but I did change notification settings due to all the spam, effectively reducing your ability to reach out to me with relevant information.
