Explorer / Adventurer / Entrepreneur / Geologist / Engineer
Currently I am pursuing a graduate degree in Geosciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. Previously I was working as a Field Engineer / Engineer In Charge in the oilfield operating a robotic horizontal well conveyance tool to send logging tools and perforating explosives down the well.
My previous degrees are a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Management & Entrepreneurship.
I'm also a 2LT in the TX State Guard in the Medical unit (am a certified EMT-B medic) and also a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. I enjoy many sports and adventures. For example I competed in the Jungle Marathon 7 day foot race through the jungle, and later worked as a jungle medic. This past summer I was in Nepal for a water filtration project and then in Hawaii for a NASA Planetary Field Volcanology Workshop. I am specifically interested in scientific field expeditions such as the Mars Desert Research Station.http://desert.marssociety.org/fs09/crew84/
I have served as Crew Engineer on Crew 78 and as Crew Commander and Health & Safety Officer on Crew 84. I am returning for Crew 97 to serve as Commander and Health & Safety Officer. The Mars Desert Research Station is an analogue field expedition to simulate living on, exploring, and performing scientific experiments in a Mars environment.
