Long Range vision of Stellar and ESCC

Happy New Year to all the IASers out there. I've enjoyed our conversations, and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you even better.

If you've not seen the long range vision of what we're doing, here are two files that should give you a glimpse into the long range vision of Team Stellar, the Advanced Aerospace Resource Center, and Earth Space Commerce Corporation (ESCC), a firm developed to produce and develop the hardware that Team Stellar will need to win the Google… Continue

All it takes is courage...

Excellent article on the feasibility of a one-way, manned Mars mission, by a former NASA engineer.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/scienceandsociety/2008/03/one-way-trip-to.html

The fact of the matter is that we are seeking funding to scale-up a technology that may make a manned mission plan for Mars even more feasible, Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion propulsion.

Richard,
Please view my US Patent # 6,779,334 - an advanced eco-engine. Lightweight with the HP density of a turbine. Non-electric hybrids increase efficiency by using the otherwise wasted heat energy of typical engines.
I'd like to see somebody start using it.
D.C. Cafe Standards Chief Engineer does also! This in a personal conversation some 2 years ago.

Welcome to the Forum, Richard, though I suspect, knowing one of our mutual friends, that you've intended to do the same for longer than I knew it existed.

Greetings Richard, I'm glad you accepted my invitation. You'll find this a wonderfully eclectic, energetic and determined group of NewSpace advocates.

Echo the welcome of Jeff, Richard, once again, and clarify to say also that I am somewhat familiar with the AVRC and was almost as early as Billings in hydrogen hybrid engine research with some of the same "older but wiser" people I'm partnering with today in a space industry initiative.

That was in 1979, and it's amazing how prophetic some of our advisers were about how soon what we were working on back then would become part of the national conversation. If anything, they were not conservative enough in their estimates, sadly.

It would be a pleasure to talk with your about the Center sometime when convenient. The Center has certainly come up in conversation at the General Assembly quite often. I'd sure like to know more.

Hello, Richard. In all the regular stinky sausage making that goes on at the General Assembly last year, I remembered encountering the AVRC only once. My office is directly next to Club 612, on the top floor of the LOB. Naturally, I want to know more.

"Larry," who joined the Forum this past week, and I were heavily involved in Hydrogen automobile engine development, scratching around the edges of the Department of Energy in 1979-1980, for example. Nickel-Metal Hydride tanks were a little over budget for us then, however.

Yes, our mutual friend is Jeff K, with whom I enjoyed a wonderful two and a half hour lunch conversation on Wednesday, between Raleigh and Chapel Hill. He brought me up to speed on his work and began developing what may be a start for something, but time ran out before he had to get busy preparing for his step-Son's wedding and I had to go play good cop with a tour group and the Cultural Resources guards at the Old Capitol.

And, thanks for being kind about my April Fool tribute to Ron Dittemore, who has apparently dropped off the face of Earth. I've always wanted to thank him for his initial public face for NASA in those horrible days immediately after Columbia.

Whether we can learn from mistakes may determine whether we become one of the old who die "young," perhaps. But whether Institutions can correct systemic mistakes when that system is tied forever to larger Institutions, like Congress for example, has always been problematic. I hope we can meet sometime soon. Not everyone at North Carolina's legislature is as dumb as a bag of hammers. Some of the Members actually have attention spans longer than that of a circus monkey.

Take care, and I look forward to meeting you sooner, rather than later...

Hi, Richard ... and welcome to IASE! I hope you find this community valuable as we continue to grow it. Enjoy!

As a way for you to promote AVRC and Team STELLAR, I would encourage you to create a Group within IASE. This will allow you to attract like-minded individuals and created Discussions specific to your Group's common interests.

Hello, Richard. Had a very interesting conversation with Dick late this afternoon which has me doing some preliminary research this evening, with more to follow tomorrow. It was very informative, and I was pointed in precisely the right directions. I appreciated it greatly, and will be in touch with him to give a progress report later this week. Just a head's up. Take care. - Joel R

And I look forward to having him add some more to the investigation this morning. And I can think of more than one person who might fit the bill. I'll get back to you shortly. And thanks for the contact information, as well.

Richard, has Team Stellar considered applying to Space Angels Network for funding as a starting point for feedback on your plans?
