This is a great idea. We need to work together to make NewSpace happen, to let the public know that we are doing exciting things

Guillermo, thanks for the welcome. Are you intending that we begin inviting fellow entrepreneurs right now, or is there some "launching event" we should wait for in the next week or two?

I've posted a link to IASE on the "Next Generation Exploration Conference". Their theme was "Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Lunar Development". You will find them at http://nasacolab.org/ngec-2 (though you would need to log in to see my post)

Thanks Guillermo. Looks like a nice set of resources. Here at MIT, we work under a funny model of non-profit entrepreneurship for research and education, but I look forward to learning from this community!

Guillermo,
Thank you for the note. I'm returning to my dream. I worked in the NASA world in the 80's and early 90's. Highlights included S/W and System Engineering on the Shuttle and Mission Control Center, a stint as Program Manager of the Johnson Space Center and later I ran the Space Systems Group in Houston for Booz Allen under Bill Lenoir. I've been consulting for the past 12 years in telecom and now I'm ready to return to Commercial Space. My goal is to become known as the go to source for Integration: Vehicle, Ground Systems, Payloads. I've been out of the biz long enough that I need introductions to the key "players". I'm looking forward to this forum as a resource, network and place to visit with those who share the passion.

Thanks Guillermo! I was excited to spot this site! It started with a small research for my graduation thesis ages ago at ESA. Since then I have always kept my interest. From navigation and aeronautical system support until international project management. I moved to the Nordics almost three years ago and people are really interested to get involved in (commercial) space programs. There is still a l ot to do, but I am working on my dreams, just like Lynn Chilson mentioned here below!

Are there any events on the horizon for members of the group to potentially meet in person?

I really enjoyed the talk we had here in Los Angeles awhile back - when Elon Musk was speaking. And I connected with some great folks too.

Perhaps it would help to have one spot where anyone of us could post a message about an event that is directly related or associated with our focus?

Would a 'Discussion' be the right place for that or something else?

I'm only somewhat familiar with these ning sites.

Thanks,

Pam Hoffman

p.s. something i have learned in the study of marketing and online marketing and few seem to be doing here - add a 'signature' to each post you make. you may notice that i have put my name and then my main, current web address. while that address may change over time - it WILL gain exposure AND possibly serve as the all-important 'link-back' tho i don't think that feature is enable here (not sure it's even possible here - many other places it is online).

i'm looking forward to seeing that from folks UNLESS IT IS FORBIDDEN! and on a site like this, i can hope that it is OK TO DO. thanks, pam

A group like this is important.

Anything that we can do to lower the barriers to entry will greatly impact our future.

Guillermo, I know it's late but I was at the ISDC back in '06 and really enjoyed the Space Business Entrepreneurs panel discussion you facilitated. I hope to see more such events.

Hi, Guillermo - thanks for looking through my sites - yes - a lot of varied interests and space entrepreneurship is something I've always recognized as the next great frontier - so while I haven't any practically applicable space business background (yet) I certainly want to be aligned with a group like this that does.

I have other skills and talents that may be useful to this endeavor, not the least of which being video/film production and design that could be useful in getting ideas and ventures into the market.

RE: Styx - yes - my first real favorite band growing up - so it was a dream come true to work with Tommy Shaw on his email marketing campaign a few years back.

My 15 year old son is showing great promise in his tastes as I've introduced him to Styx, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Zeppeling, and then some - his collection of these concept rockers dwarfs mine...lots of hope for the Millennial Generation.

Thanks for reaching out and up.
